For a while now I’ve been wanting to make my own gummy candy. So today I tried out a recipe to see if it works and to see how well it tastes. The process is fairly easy and only slightly messy. But most all, its pretty fun. 🙂
Step One: Put the Jello and the Knox Gelatin in a saucepan. Add 1/3 cup of water and stir. NOTE: I used 4 packets of Knox Gelatin on my first try and my gummies came out too rubbery. If you are making this will Jello use only 2 packets, if using a juice, use 3-4 packets.
Step Two: Put the saucepan on medium heat and stir until all of the gelatin and Jello are dissolved.
Step Three: Pour the liquid mixture from the saucepan into a heat-proof measuring cup, with a pouring spout. Then, pour the mixture into your candy molds and let sit for about 10-20 minutes, or until they are firm. You can put them in the freezer to speed up the process.
Step Four: Pull the gummies out of the molds and enjoy! Store in an air-tight container.
