I wrote this poem for my high school Creative Writing class about 2 years back.
Just discovered it again and wanted to share with fellow book lovers.
Reading the title and scanning the cover,
Diving into a story or leaving another,
Flipping each page with the greatest of care,
Almost to the end, but not quite there;
Plots and settings, morals and themes,
Thoughts, facts, memories, and dreams,
Paperback or hardcover, thick or thin,
Opening to the first page and jumping right in;
Reading for pleasure, or reading for fun,
Nestled in a comfy chair, or lounging in the sun,
Taking you places you never have been,
Keeping you hooked until the very end;
A book is your comfort, your shelter, your home,
While reading a book, one will never be alone,
Old ones or new ones, there is plenty to spare,
Buy one, borrow one, give away or share,
the power of a book is everywhere.

Wooow!!! I really, really like it!!! Didn’t know you were such a poet
. Nice!!!!!
